Caravan - Melody Gardot@Jazz a Juan 2010

"Night and stars above that shine so bright
The myst'ry of their fading light
That shines upon our caravan

Sleep upon my shoulder as we creep
Across the sand so I may keep
The mem'ry of our caravan

This is so exciting
You are so inviting
Resting in my arms
As I thrill to the magic charms

Of you beside me here beneath the blue
My dream of love is coming true
Within our desert caravan!"

You are my friend and my partner
O Deanna

On this house on the hill
O Deanna

And I ain't down here for your money
I ain't down here for your love
I ain't down here for your love or money

I'm down here for you SOUL!

Sunset Spring with Girls - ""Thee Oh So Protective One"

(Sunset Spring photos' taken by A. Rolo and S. Oliveira)

The coming of Spring brought the new light to this mountains! I love this song from Girls' new album and although it's called Broken Dreams Club it really makes you feel fine with the "mexican" alike trompet that's so exagerated, in the good and funny way exagerated!

Just sit at the sun and enjoy it!

Wovenhand - Bleary Eyed Duty

Back to the city lights, with a magnificent show from Wovenhand.
You say cowboy and I say Apache! Either way it was a marvelous return.
I'll drop here the first song I've heard from him, long long time ago, the one that should stay in my heart forever - Bleary Eyed Duty.

(Sorry but i couldn't take any picture...so this is the one)

Enjoy it!

The Lighthouse - Interpol

"It's the place that's said to break
It's just as safe from the outside tonight

And I want that
I face the storms at the tides
From the lighthouse

And I want that
Unleash the storm and the night

Oh...

What do the waves have to say now?
What do the waves have to say now?

Slow now

And let the waves have their way now
Slow, and let the waves have their day

And I want that

Here I've been living on roofs made from sin
Upward and outward, "Begin, begin."

Here I've been lucid I'm living within
Inwardly urgent, I'm sinking again

The Lighthouse"

Sintra Misty

15.10.2010

.:Mazgani:.
We were just arriving to C.O.C. in Sintra and the first image that remains in my brain is the guitar player getting carried by the front singer and bassist, who were leaving the restaurant (it must be a really good restaurant) and trying to get in time at the concert. However, the show was the most magnificent of this first night and the song "Mercy" is the best example of it.
In the end, the "preacher" assaulted the public begging with "Thirst"!

.: Tó Trips e Tiago Gomes:.
In a great introduction to Kerouac's On the Road, this duo brings together their musically interpretation of the famous beatnik.
"Mañana, it was always mañana, a lovely word and one that probably means heaven"
16.10.2010

.:Foge Foge Bandido:.
Hummm...well...It's Ok.
Ohhhh! I forgot! "Canção da Lua" (Moon Song) was the best thing!

.:Mark Kozelek:.
What a funny guy! However not so funny to the light technician who was compared to a retarded. He really plays good the classic guitar, but for the siesta.

That weekend was all mine to enjoy!

The Strange Boys - Be Brave

This picture, taken last month when these kids were playing around, suits well with this happy song from The Strange Boys, Be Brave. Jenna Thornhill-DeWitt, the band's saxophonist, gives the song the right mood to enjoy it everywhere you go.

Roscoe - Midlake

Some Sunday morning we went to a nearby village and came across with this beautiful old house.
This song wasn't my first choice to describe this moment, but then I remembered this piece:
"1891
They looked around the forest
They made their house from cedars
They made their house from stones" and then I added Roscoe to it.

Beautiful this song as well as the LP "The Trials of Van Occupanther"

Enjoy it!

Moondance - Van Morrison

We're about to leave the room, I remember I was so happy though scared...
And everytime I ear this song I feel the same rush of that day: the buildings, the landscapes, the journey we've made, and most of all the willing to have that dance with you.
This is a great song for love, joyfull and hopefull.

Enjoy it!

Atlas Sound (do not leave the room/do not leave the country side)

Although it seems autobiographical, the 2009 released "Logos" it is nothing but the result of Bradford Cox introspective boredom.
Songs like "Sheila" makes you wanna feel the breathing life by walking on the fresh grass, and "An Orchid" takes you to a journey of ethereal pop through a ambient room recording.

Another great record from the deerhunter music genius.
Enjoy it!

There's someone out there with "strange powers" - The Magnetic Fields

This song from The Magnetic Fields' album Holiday (1994) is a quite sweet and fun that could remind us about days of escape and nightlife. Great for the road, passing by mountains and small villages, singing:

"the sun pours down like honey
the moon runs down like mercury
the stars fall down like money (...)
and i can't sleep
cause you got strange powers"

Enjoy it!
